Each inscription is identified by its unique number. Those published in the two major printed corpora – G. Mihailov’s “Inscriptiones Graecae in Bulgaria repertae” and V. Beševliev’s “Spätgriechische und spätlateinische Inschriften aus Bulgarien” – retain their number in the publication preceded by the abbreviation “IGBulg” or “SIBulg”, e.g. IGBulg_0013, SIBulg_207. The rest have numbers containing the abbreviation “Tlmn”, an index from 1 to 4 corresponding to a specific part of the territory of Bulgaria, and, after an underscore, a four-digit number reflecting the order of inclusion, e.g. Tlmn1_0001; Tlmn2_0001; Tlmn2_0002; Tlmn3_0001. The indices – in agreement with the volume numbers of “Inscriptiones Graecae in Bulgaria repertae” – refer to the following parts of the territory of Bulgaria: Tlmn1: Black Sea coast; Tlmn2: Northern Bulgaria; Tlmn3: Central Southern Bulgaria; Tlmn4: Southwestern Bulgaria.
