The inscription on the altar gives the name of the deity, to whom it was dedicated, in the genitive; there is no name of a dedicant. The cult of Zeus is attested in two other inscriptions from Apollonia: a column erected by Leonto, wife of the strategos Apollonios son of Eptaikenthos (early first century AD), and a base for a column dedicated by the priest Tiberius Claudius Proculus, probably grandson of Leonto (late first century AD). Both inscriptions were found in re-use, so the location of the sanctuary of Zeus remains unknown.
